If you have not yet had the opportunity to dive into the artistic world of the famous Spanish artist, we provide you with a series of useful information on the works on display, the dates, times and ticket prices of one of the exhibitions that promises to be among the most "popular. ”Of tourism in Campania for this summer 2014, as happened last year for the exhibition on Salvador Dalì, also at Villa Fiorentino, when a record of attendance was recorded in the marvelous Sorrento.

Why an exhibition on Picasso?

Picasso is not just Cubism e Guernica. The Spanish artist born in Malaga in 1881 has always been considered an innovator and an experimenter in the history of modern art, so much so as to characterize the entire twentieth century with his pictorial style and his works.

The exhibition set up at Villa Fiorentino offers visitors a chronological and thematic itinerary of some of the less "fanatical" but more poetic works created by Picasso, including engravings and graphic series that show Picasso's stylistic evolution, from his youth to maturity. Particular attention deserves the Suite des Salimbanques, a “series” of 14 etchings and drypoint dedicated to the humble and the poor who animated the streets of Montmartre, in Paris, made between 1904 and 1906.

Works, like the others on display, tell a deep and intimate Picasso, modern in its forms and at the same time respectful of the classical world, always striving towards the strong desire to experiment, to try, to constantly measure itself with the new.

The works of the exhibition

As already announced, they will be on display at Villa Fiorentino 240 graphic engravings, 24 ceramics and some unique works, which will trace a chronological path that will immerse the visitor among the techniques and styles used by Picasso during his life: from drawing to painting, from etching to drypoint, from terracotta to ceramics.

The following can therefore be admired in chronological and thematic order unique works e graphic series: Le cocu magnifique e Winds poems by Gongora, La Célestine, Sable Mouvant, Suite des Saltimbanques, The Tricorno, Natural History, Balzac en Bas de Casse e Barcelona Suite. THE pottery (1948-64) come from a private collection and from the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza and will be placed in the rooms of the works respecting the chronological order.
