Sorrento hosts Dalì: an unmissable opportunity to discover the artistic world of the eccentric Spanish surrealist!
The headquarters of the Sorrento Foundation, Villa Fiorentino, hosts from the 14 June, e until September 29, the most prestigious artistic exhibition ever on the Sorrento peninsula.
The Dali Universe is the exhibition that has already been held in other Italian cities, Florence and Venice, and which arrives a few steps from Naples to give us the opportunity to learn about some unprecedented aspects of the artistic production of the eccentric and extravagant Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali.
Besides 100 works of the great master are enclosed on the three levels of the villa, including not only paintings, but also sculptures, works in bronze, illustrations taken from literary works of the past known or not, surrealist design creations, a special goldsmith production, glass objects.
It is difficult not to be ecstatic in front of beautiful, curious and original artistic objects, capable of transforming themselves under our eyes almost as if they had a life of their own, each with its very particular story. With The Dali Universe one discovers and touches the versatility of one of the protagonists of the artistic scene of the last century, whose artistic creations are the result of his exuberant personality, able to transport the visitor to the dreamlike places in which they are located.
Among the works present the most fascinating: the glass sculptures colored made in collaboration with the French Daum glassware, le gold creations which bear the "signature" of Dalì and his wife Gala, the hall of "Soft Watches", true leitmotiv of the Dalinian art production in which his conception of the fugacity of time in perpetual movement is contained, the illustrations taken from literary works from which springs his fervid imagination, furnishing objects and surrealist design furniture, paintings inspired by the Bible, and beautiful bronze statues that dominate the various rooms of the museum among which stand out Adam and Eve, Woman in Flames andSpace Elephant.
To complete the exhibition of Dali and to immerse ourselves even more in his vision of the world, citations and sentences more significant ones that stand out on the walls of Villa Fiorentino, accompanying the visitor from one floor to another, making the exhibition path more evocative and engaging.
Ma The Dali Universe It is not an exhibition simply enclosed in a museum, but also spreads in the squares of the beautiful Sorrento, where they were placed four huge Dali statues who anticipated the arrival of the exhibition in the city and which immerse themselves perfectly in the urban context, characterizing it and making it poetic and fascinating.
