History and show come together for exceptional night visits to the excavations of Pompeii!
From the August 5 to the September 27 , with the reopening to the public of the Great Gym of the Pompeii Excavations, the first edition of "Pompeii, a nocturnal emotion", with a rich program of suggestive evening visits with the accompaniment of archaeologists and expert guides storytelling, cultural meetings with writers and personalities from the world of art, archeology and communication (including Alberto Angela) ed multimedia installations.
The Campania Region enhancement project is carried out by Scabec (Regional Cultural Heritage Society) and by MIBACT (Night at the Museum), financed with POIn funds “natural, cultural and tourism attractors”.
The path
The journey will start with the exhibition of the casts of "Pompeii and Europe 1748-1943”, Inside the wooden and metal pyramid, designed by the architect Francesco Venezia. The visit will continue in vineyards of the Foro Boario, where the expert winemakers of the winery Mastroberardino will illustrate the ancient cultivations and techniques for making wine in Roman times. From there, via di Castricio will take you along the Great Gym and we will stand before the House of the Ship Europe until you reach the Casa del Menandro. Finally we will reach thetheater area, at the Odeon, the small theater, where there will be an extraordinary performance of lights curated by the photographer Cesare Accetta with the voice of the actor Enzo Moscato, which will revive the destructive eruption of Vesuvius of the 79 a. C.
Pompeii will not only be a place of memory, but also a stage for cultural events and shows, told through the video by Pappi Corsicato, which will show the ancient city by day, animated by tourists, until sunset and then at night, when it is a magical and silent place.

The collections will be entirely donated to the Special Superintendency of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Stabia for restoration or maintenance of the site.
