Le Maschere del Teatro Italiano Award

Five theatrical “oscars” for Toni Servillo at the “Le Maschere del Teatro Italiano” awards ceremony at the San Carlo Theater. Here are all the winners

The award ceremony evening The Masks of the Italian Theater took place yesterday evening in Naples in the splendid setting of Teatro San Carlo, as happens every year.

Conceived by the director Luca De Fusco and the critic Maurizio Giammusso in 2002, the award represents for the theatrical world what the Oscar represents for the cinema world: a coveted recognition with which the best Italian theater productions of the season just ended. The individual prizes are awarded to the best actor and to the best actress and to the individual artistic roles of the sector, attributed by critics, artists and professionals.

Leading the 2013 edition of the award again this year was the actor Tullio Solenghi, and the evening was broadcast on Rai Uno on a deferred basis at 23 pm. The event was organized by the Campania Foundation of Festivals as the final event of the Napoli Teatro Festival. The novelty is the collaboration with theMariangela Melato Association, dedicated to the famous actress who died last January, to whom two prizes were awarded to two emerging artists.

During the evening the great ones were remembered theatrical actresses who passed away this year: Rossella Falk, Anna Proclemer, Regina Bianchi, Mariangela Melato and Franca Rame.

Toni Servillo The voices inside

The great protagonist of the evening was Toni Servillo, which has literally "beaten" the competition by winning five awards out of five applications thanks to his latest prose show The voices inside who also awarded his brother Peppe Servillo and actress Chiara Baffi. An unparalleled triumph that stunned the same actor de Il Divo quality The great beauty who commented

It's the first time I've received an award as a theater actor, despite doing theater for 35 years. And I am particularly happy to have received it in this city and on this stage

Toni Servillo dedicated her prizes to the spectators and to all the women who go to the theater, because
