Il San Carlo Theater of Naples always has a programming that includes the staging of great works and theatrical performances with prestigious cast and music of the highest level.
For many months, despite the pandemic, the calendar of shows has never stopped and gradually Massimo Napoletano tries to bring more and more people to the theater by proposing great classical, works, concerts, but also guided tours.
In the month of February 2022 are expected three very important shows which we can see together below.
Aida, the work of Giuseppe Verdi
It is a great classic, an opera in four acts based on the libretto by Antonio Ghislanzoni from a subject by Auguste Mariette.
The work it was commissioned to Giuseppe Verdi by the viceroy of Egypt Ismail Pascià that he wanted the Italian artist to write a hymn to play for the celebrations for the opening of the Suez Canal in 1870. It was played in public for the first time in 1871 at the National Theater in Cairo and is one of the most famous operas that there are.
È in Italian with Italian and English surtitles.

The three Queens
It is a work in concert form with the endings taken from librettos by Gaetano Donizetti. She is played by American soprano Sondra Radvanovsky who personifies the three queens:
- Anne Boleyn;
- Mary Stuart;
- Elizabeth I.
This show is also in Italian with Italian and English surtitles.

Mozart / Gounod
A show of chamber music with the “Orchestra Professors of the San Carlo Theater” who will perform the following music by Mozart and Gounod:

- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Serenade No. 11 in E flat major K 375
- Charles Gounod, Petite Symphonie op. 216
