Gesualdo, jewel of Irpinia, welcomes the Living Nativity 2016 with guided tours to discover the ancient crafts!
Il And 27 28 December 2016 the appointment is at Gesualdo, in the province of Avellino, where an evocative will be set up Living Nativity. Since 2010 the Astrea Association has recovered the tradition and this year has reached the nineteenth edition.
Overlooking the Valle del Calore, the village will come alive in all its streets and squares giving life to more than 50 scenes with over 200 figurants in period costumes entirely handmade. We will go through the winding alleys of the town discovering ancient crafts: merchants, cobblers, canestrai and soldiers will be just some of the figures present.
The mother scene, that of the Nativity, will welcome the visitor in a natural cave, making the experience even more exciting. It will be possible to visit Gesualdo with guided tours: this year the stop at the wonderful castle medieval of Carlo Gesualdo, also known as the "Prince of Musicians".
Admission is free and a free camper area will also be available.
