The City of Napoli has decided to employ part of the earners of the Basic income in the cleaning and care of gardens of the city.
This was announced by the mayor Gaetano Manfredi declaring that 350 will be those who will take care of the green of Naples, according to these divisions:
- 50 will be alongside the gardeners already at work at the Soccavo Multifunctional Center;
- the remaining 300 will be used in other Municipalities to free flower beds and parks from waste;
- two other areas will also be created operating in central Naples and in the eastern area.
Projects of collective utility
It is a way to restore work dignity to those who receive the Basic income and this is one of the projects of collective utility that are included in the law that established this subsidy.
After several years, the Municipality has decided to invest in these subjects by training them and giving them an activity to carry out.
The number of earners to be employed in various social and cultural activities is expected to greatly increase.
The requests to the third sector to make the earners work
Mayor Manfredi also said that the Municipality has also published one manifestation of interests to third sector entities, to foundations and associations to stimulate them to give employment to those who receive the Basic income.
Also because the stability law provides for theobligation to employ one third of these recipients. Therefore, there should be 36000 people employed in jobs in these sectors. This will also make it easier for them to enter the world of work in the future.
