La Naples ring road has published a series of notices that communicate the closure of various junctions at night and sometimes during the day and some motorway sections from the first days of August until about the end of September 2021.

The closures do not always concern the same junctions for the entire period, but will alternate and every 3-4 days a ramp will be closed to the public. Right away we will also indicate the alternative outputs or inputs mandatory or recommended to use to reach your destinations.

Here is all the information.

The closures of the Tangenziale in August and September

  • The 4 and the 6 August the Fuorigrotta junction in the direction of Pozzuoli will be closed from 22.00 until 6.00 (therefore until the morning of 7 August). For those coming from the motorway, the alternative exit of Agnano is recommended.
  • The 4 and the 5 AugustThe Doganella-Capodimonte section towards Pozzuoli will be closed from 22.00 to 6.00 (therefore until the morning of 6 August). Therefore, those heading to Pozzuoli from the motorway must take the obligatory Doganella exit and the recommended return is at the Capodimonte entrance junction. In this case, the alternative route is viale Umberto Maddalena, via Nuova del Campo, via Domenico D'Ambra, via Arenaccia, via Nicola Nicolini, via Ponti Rossi, via Capodimonte.
    The Capodichino-Airport, Doganella-Viale Maddalena and Corso Malta entrances towards Pozzuoli are also closed. Those who come from the ordinary roads and from the SS162 / Dir, the alternative entrance is Capodimonte. The AGIP Doganella Ovest and ESSO Scudillo Ovest service areas will also be closed.
  • From the 4 6 August, again from 22.00 to 6.00 (until 7 August morning) the Vomero junction will be closed, but only the Via Cilea ramp, so those coming from the Vomero toll booth the exit ramp is via Caldieri. The entrance ramp via Cilea will also be closed and for those coming from ordinary roads the entrance ramp to use is via Pigna-via Caldieri.
  • From 22.00 pm on 5th August until 1.00 am on 6th August the Camaldoli exit towards Pozzuoli will be closed and those coming from the motorways can use the Vomero exit.
  • The Fuorigrotta junction towards the motorways will be closed from midnight to 3.00 on 6 August. Those coming from Pozzuoli can use the Agnano exit.
  • From 2.00 to 6.00 on 6 August the Fuorigrotta exit towards the motorways will be closed. Those coming from ordinary roads can use the Agnano entrance.
  • From 8.00 to 17.00 from 2 to 8 August and on 9 August the exit ramp via Pigna at the Vomero junction will be closed. Those coming from the Vomero toll booth can use the via Caldieri exit ramp.
  • From 10 to 13 August from 8.00 to 17.00 and from 16 to 19 August at the same times the via Pigna ramp of the Vomero junction will be closed and those coming from ordinary roads can use the entrance ramp via Cilea.
  • The 19 August from 8.00 to 17.00 the exit ramp via Caldieri is closed at the Vomero junction and those coming from the Vomero toll booth can use the exit ramp via Pigna.
  • From 30 August to 3 September and from 6 to 10 September from 8.00 to 17.00 closed the exit ramp via Pigna of the Vomero junction. Those coming from the Vomero toll booth can use the recommended exit via Caldieri.
  • From 13 to 17 September and 20 September from 8.00 to 17.00 the entrance ramp via Pigna will be closed, again at the Vomero junction, and the alternative entrance ramp via Cilea is recommended.

Refund of the toll

Due to these scheduled closures you could run into a double payment of the toll of the Tangenziale as you could exit and re-enter it precisely due to the closure of the entrances or exits of your need.

For this reason it is reimbursement of the toll is foreseen in excess by keeping the payment receipts.

Here's how to get your refund:

  • the receipt of the first payment must be collected, made both manually and automatically
  • in case of manual payment, after the return the receipt must be shown to the staff and the new entrance must not be paid
  • in case of exit with automatic payment, after returning you can collect the receipt of the payment made and ask for a refund at the Punto Blu offices in Fuorigrotta or Astroni. Alternatively, you can send a copy of the receipt to the email info@tangenzialedinapoli.it indicating your personal details and bank details
  • the customer with Telepass must communicate his device number to the email info@tangenzialedinapoli.it the device number.
