The San Marzano 2016 tomato festival, lots of fun at Striano's public gardens!
From 9 to 11 September 2016 a Striano the XV edition of the San Marzano tomato festival DOP.
The chefs, like every year, will use raw materials a zero km and they will use biodegradable crockery to prepare delicious dishes. The tomato San Marzano DOP, protagonist of the festival, will be supplied directly by the Agriconserve Rega company and will be used together with other high quality products such as the artisan pasta "Grania" from Castello di Cisterna, the extra virgin olive oil from the "Torretta" oil mill in Battipaglia, fiordilatte and the buffalo mozzarella DOP from the “Il casolare” dairy in Alvignano and the craft beer produced by the masters of the “Maneba” brewery in Striano.
In the public gardens of via Risorgimento will be installed gazebos, tables and chairs for 400 Guests where the participants will be able to taste the various dishes present in the menu, a stage will also be set up where they will be held in the evening musical performances. The menu of the festival will include first courses chosen from spaghetti alla puttanesca, penne all'arrabbiata and spaghetti with fillet; seconds chosen from Eggplant Parmesan, PDO buffalo mozzarella with tomato salad and aubergine meatballs. The dishes will be accompanied by homemade beers e local wines.
