If you love onions, you can't miss the appointment that will be held until August 15, 2013 in San Pietro al Tanagro (Salerno). All dishes will be based on this particular vegetable!
A particular, intense and unique flavor. Every food is inundated with a perfume and a characteristic taste thanks to the onion. The famous festival dedicated to this vegetable, very famous in the land of Vallo di Diano, is back. The event has now reached its eighth edition, as usual, a San Pietro al Tanagro.
You will not find yourself in front of the traditional festival, but is considered more like a feature walk of taste which will take place in the historic alleys of the municipality.
"The flavors that are heard in the mouth ... and in the mind" is the main theme of the appointment that will also be accompanied by the merry music emitted by tambourines and triccheballacche.
The 2013 menu will succeed in conquering all the onion lovers, in fact, it will be possible to taste some fantastic dishes.

cavatelli with onions ragout and Sanpetresi cherry tomatoes, streaked pancetta and pecorino dusting;
Stuffed veal with onions of St. Peter, accompanied by a slice of homemade bread cooked in a wood oven - * served in a terracotta bowl;
Zuppetta of chickpeas, onion and oil of San Pietro collected in a "puffed rosette" (produced by sanpetresi bakers) and garnished with sausage and rosemary - * served in terracotta oval;
"Arranged potatoes and cepodde"Potatoes and onions of San Pietro, cut into slices alternating layers in a pan and completed with oregano and pecorino - * served in terracotta oval;
Onion rings with corn breading;
Traditional warm zeppole, freshly prepared and made special by its fragrance;
Pizza cooked in a wood oven, stuffed with onion of San Pietro al Tanagro;
Gelato flavored with "onion" accompanied by "drops" of vin-cooked;
Wine red of the hills of San Pietro al Tanagro.
