The Night of Lovers event will transform Naples into the city of love on Valentine's Day
From today the countdown for the most romantic party of the year officially begins: Valentine's day.
The Department of Culture and Tourism of Naples, with the collaboration of the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, is organizing the event Night of lovers, that will transform our beautiful Naples, in the city of love.
All day long 14 February 2015, you can attend theatrical performances, concerts, guided visits to museums (which will remain open until midnight and will reserve rate discounts to couples). The common thread will be the theme of love and of lovers. Even the bookshops that will join the initiative will remain open for a special one White Night entitled "Of the love of the book and the books of love" and read excerpts from the most beautiful book on love and on Eros the philosopher, "the Symposium" of Plato, in which various Athenian intellectuals dialogue on the meaning of love, each offering his point of view.
This event will be an opportunity to fall in love in Naples but especially in Naples, which will be seen under the light of love. After all, loving embraces a very broad affective field, which does not necessarily imply a relationship of couple. Indeed, just because the difficult reality has made us unhappy to love, we should all re-evaluate this precious feeling that, as Dante Alighieri wrote, move the sun and the other stars.
