The Scarlatti escalator, at Vomero, is closed again and is reported by the President of the Collinari Values ​​Committee, Gennaro New Year, who is very active in the hilly area of ​​Naples.

The staircase, managed by ANM, is closed for theumpteenth time since this morning on Monday 22 August 2022, but at the moment the causes are not known nor is it known when it will be reopened. The situation creates many inconveniences to those who need to go up to via Morghen, which curves several times towards Saint Martin walk, without having to do all the curves on foot or use the stairs.

We remind you, in fact, that from the base of via Scarlatti you can reach the upper area of ​​via Morghen, or some of its intermediate parts, by cutting through the normal or mobile stairs.

Difficulty for tourists and citizens

As we know, there are also many tourists in the city during this period and many frequent the Vomero. One of the most sought-after areas is the San Martino viewpoint, where the beautiful one is also located chartreuse homonymous and the Castel Sant'Elmo, places that are located high up and, for those on foot, can also be reached via the escalator in via Scarlatti.

With the company hot these days, the steep climb is even more difficult if you can't use the lift. Without considering people who have difficulty climbing normal stairs for other reasons as well.

When will the escalator reopen?

At the moment, as reported by Gennaro New Year, there are no signs which explain the reasons for the closure of the plant nor when it will be reopened.

It could remain closed for short while to allow some maintenance or do not open for several days.
