Sele in Food, the food and wine fair of the typical products of the Upper Sele Valley

Back to the new edition of the famous fair called “Sele in Food“. This is an event that takes place in Materdomini, near Caposele in the province of Avellino, which focuses on local flavours, namely those of the Sele Valley, hence the name of the event.

It all takes place from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 March 2024 and carries forward not only the objective of making local foods known but also its own , they will in fact be involved producers, associations and all those who express an interest in the food and wine sector will obviously be welcomed.

What does the Sele in Food Fair consist of?

The Materdomini Exhibition Center hosts the food and wine event where it will be possible to taste the local food and culture, i.e. the specialties of Irpinia and the Sele Valley.

But it's not just about food: the event is also an opportunity to participate in WORKSHOPS, enjoy show-cooking, listen to debates and learn through conferences.

The fair is a meeting place, where you can discover new tastes and knowledge, exchange ideas and start collaborations.

But let's see the program of the 2024 edition in detail, time by time:

22 March

  • 16:30 – Opening of the fair.
  • 17:30 – Conference on “Traditional agriculture, inland areas and synthetic food”.
  • 19:30 – “Wines within their borders” tasting in collaboration with ONAV delegation of Avellino. (Reservation on site, places limited to 30).

23 March

  • 10:00 – Opening of the fair.
  • 19:00 – Workshop and tasting of the typical dish “La Taratella”, organized by the Pro Loco d'Ayala Valva.
  • 20:00 – Tasting of “Spaghetto San Giovanniello” by chef Francesco Delli Gatti.

24 March

  • 10:00 – Opening of the fair.
  • 15:30 – “The Art of Pizza” workshop, held by the world pizza champion Rocco Di Martino. (Reservation on site, places limited to 30).
  • 18:00 – “I Vini di Villa Raiano” tasting, organized by Slow Food – Alta Irpinia. (Reservation on site, places limited to 30).
  • 19:30 – Matassa workshop and tasting, organized by the Pro Loco of Caposele.
  • 21:00 – Tasting of “La Trota del Sele” – Progetto Borghi, curated by chef Francesco Delli Gatti.
  • Followed by the lottery draw Sele in Food 2024 – Participate and win 200 euros.
