The most beautiful works by Caravaggio will come to life through the Tableaux Vivants on stage at the Monumental Complex Donnaregina!
The masterpieces of Michelangelo Merisi, alias Caravaggio, , they will literally take life at the Museum Diocesan of Naples.
In particular, i Tableaux Vivants, the living pictures, curated by Ludovica Rambelli Teatro, will be staged on 28 December 2014, in the rooms of the Monumentale Donnaregina complex.
The evocative representation will concern 23 canvases by Caravaggio, masterfully interpreted by the bodies, lines and expressions of extraordinary actors. With the support of objects and fabrics of daily use and magnificent ones music by Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi and Sibelius, Merisi's works will be reproduced as faithfully as possible respecting details, colors and lights.
In this regard, the scenes, as well as in the original paintings, will be illuminated by a single light ray creating the typical effect of chiaroscuro, in which lights and shadows harmonize perfectly in a game of images, shapes and shades.
Moreover, during the new exhibition of living pictures, participants will be entitled to discounts and concessions to visit the "Seven works of Mercy" at the Church of the Pio Monte della Misericordia.
Tableaux Vivants, is an expressive technique used since 700 and then fell into disuse over time. The revival of the particular theater shows, has found great effect and success among the Neapolitan public, more and more fascinated and interested in art and the enormous artistic and cultural heritage of the city.
