The San Carlo Theater in Naples on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the death of the great Italian tenor Enrico Caruso organizes various events!

The beautiful San Carlo Theater of Naples on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the death of the great Italian tenor Enrico Caruso organizes various events to pay homage to his memory.

The great artist died just a Napoli in August 1921 and in memory of his talent and this anniversary the Neapolitan Massimo, even before the pandemic broke out, had decided to dedicate a beautiful concert in September 2021 with the participation of three great tenors: Francesco Meli, Javier Camarena and Francesco Demuro.

An interesting one will also be organized International singing competition to pay homage to Caruso and will be dedicated to young voices. More information will be published shortly on site of the theater.

Enrico Caruso

Born in Naples in 1873 Enrico Caruso he lost his mother very early to tuberculosis. However, thanks to his desire to study, to emerge and obviously to his great talent he became one of the most important tenors of the twentieth century enjoying great success also in America, which in those years was only a territory of emigration.

He spent the last days in Sorrento and died in Naples on 2 August 1921, he was buried in the cemetery of Sdoor Maria del Pianto right near the tomb of Toto.
