The Walk, or the path, is the special project conceived by Amir Nizar Zuabi and in particular it is none other than a traveling festival of art and hopes that are placed in support of all refugee people, especially children.
At the center of the Way, which will involve artists, important cultural institutions, humanitarian organizations, is the Little Amal, ie a tall well puppet 3.5 meters which represents a young refugee who embarks on a journey in an attempt to leave the past behind and start a new life.
The Walk: the Little Amal arrives in Naples
Created by Handspring Puppet Company, the Little Amal, represents all of those refugee children and embodies the hope to be able to start a new life for a certainly better future. Amal will travel more than 8.000 km and from Turkey to Europe will bring only one message, namely "Don't forget about us".
Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 September 2021 Amal will also come to Napoli with several special events, which will take place outdoors and will be free. Between these, "In the belly of Naples“, Where the city welcomes little Amal.

Disarming hope
Near the Trianon Viviani, outdoors, Amal will be in Forcella for a pact of poetic resistance to protect the right to happiness and the future. Subsequently, he will continue to the Glass House where the Piccola Orchestra di Forcella will perform in a short concert. Finally, a group of dancers will accompany her along Spaccanapli.

Amal, the travelers and the incredible forest
In the Bosco di Capodimonte (entrance from Porta Grande) there will be 60 little travelers who will accompany Amal among the beauties of nature, telling stories of mythical animals, giant butterflies, wizards, talking birds and much more.

In the belly of Naples
Amal will arrive in the Sanità district, starting from via dei Vergini, where she will find the Parata Potlach to welcome her, taking her to Piazza della Sanità. Here, three actresses from the Teatro Sanità will recite poems by Faraj Bayrakdarche translated into Neapolitan. Finally, she will be greeted by the children of the Rione Sanità Educational Network who will hand her a large skirt sewn by Nakupenda Sartoria Sociale. The Pegasus association will read you a special letter.

Amal loses her temper
In Piazza del Plebiscito Amal will be welcomed by a group that will play popular music with the tammorre. The players will be coordinated by Valentina Ferraiuolo and will sing Marcello Colasurdo. On this occasion, Amal will lose her patience "erupting like Vesuvius" and she will let herself go dancing ancient dance steps to vent her rebellion as a child. She will be accompanied by the tammorre who will calm her and Amal she will enter the courtyard of the Royal Palace where she will find the Rosa Parks' cottage and many guys who will play and sing for her. These are the White Voices Chorus of the San Carlo Theater, directed by Stefania Rinaldi, and the Sanitansamble Orchestra conducted by Maestro Paolo Acunzo.
