Among the hills of Salerno, in the picturesque hamlet of Ogliara, the period from 30 June at 3 July 2023 marks an important gastronomic appointment: the 15th Edition of the Festival of Pennette all'Ogliarese. The event represents a long-awaited celebration of local tastes, offering an atmosphere of cheerfulness and conviviality to residents and visitors.
Where the festival takes place
The epicenter of the event yes place in the Party Area of the Pro Loco, a lovely setting nestled amongst the picturesque Piazzetta overlooking the Church of Santa Maria and San Nicola and the Parco Area Feste, overlooking Via Cupa.
The festival menu
The real protagonists of the party will, of course, be the very famous ones Ogliara-style pennette, served in the characteristic fried and skilfully mixed with a generous wheel of Parmesan. But the food and wine experience doesn't stop there. The menu of the festival promises to satisfy the most demanding palates with a selection of typical local specialties:
- Sausage sandwich with chips: a timeless classic, simple but with an irresistible taste;
- Larded aubergines: a riot of Mediterranean flavors in a single dish;
- Pizzelle with courgette flowers: the lightness of the pumpkin meets the crunchiness of the pizzelle;
- Pot of fries: a pleasure that everyone likes, young and old;
- Zeppola: the dessert that cannot be missed, to conclude on a sweet note;
- Wine, water, orange soda or Coca Cola, draft beer: ideal for quenching your thirst and accompanying your dishes;
- Limoncello: a touch of freshness to close the evening.
Music and Entertainment: a program full of entertainment
Furthermore, the festival stands out for its lively musical programming which will see artists and bands on stage ready to make you dance:
- Friday, 22 pm: Live show by Five Hub Bands;
- Saturday, 22 pm: Concert by Ditty Beagle;
- Sunday, 22 pm: Evening with the Maestro Mario Alfano's piano bar;
- Monday, 21:00: Demonstration of Athletic Center Artistic Gymnastics followed, at 22.00 pm, by the performance of the Paranza Picentina.
