Free art places on December 28, 2013 for the “Una Notte al Museo” initiative. Here are which museums will be open until midnight

Night at the Museum is the event that takes place every last Saturday of the month throughout Italy and that allows the night entrance in all the state museums of the country. Saturday December 28 2013 the sixth and last evening appointment will be held with this interesting initiative which has been successful in all Italian cities.

For the occasion, the Minister of Cultural Heritage Massimo Bray has decided that, for the whole day of December 28th all state art venues will be open for free, also for evening entry from 20 am to 24 pm. One more reason to love art and culture during these Christmas holidays, and an opportunity to make our artistic and cultural heritage known to citizens and tourists.

A Naples and Campania free entry on December 28 up to 24 in the following museums:

  • National archeologic museum
  • Museum of Capodimonte
  • Royal Palace
  • Castel Sant'Elmo
  • Palace of Caserta

Special events for Night at the Museum

National archeologic museum

20 Hours: 00 | The restoration unveiled
Visitors will be able to admire and learn about the Fresco Collection, in the rooms where theinstrumentum domestic and in the Farnese Collection, led by the staff of the Conservation and Restoration Laboratory of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples who will provide information on the restoration and conservation of wall paintings, stone materials and metals.

21 Hours: 00 | Lux in fabula presents
Projection of nineteenth-century slabs, using two ancient lanterns from the mid-nineteenth century, and video projection produced by the “Lux in Fabula” Cultural Association, relating especially to the places in the Phlegraean area. Curated by Claudio Correale of “Lux in Fabula” and with an intervention by Eleonora Puntillo, on the day of the 118th anniversary of the first public film show, proposed on December 28, 1895 at the Salon Indien du Grand Cafè on the Boulevard des Capucins in Paris.

On the trail of the Sacred

Site-specific performance, where each painting will inspire a text and a musical tradition, from Armenian chant to De Andrè, passing through Bach and Vivaldi and Blav, for an evening dedicated to beauty. The event is organized by Maniphesta Teatro On. Sounds and songs of the Western and Eastern tradition will accompany the reading of passages taken from ancient and contemporary sources on the theme of the Nativity.

Capodimonte in dance 

The choreographer Irma Cardano and the ballet company "Ivir Danza" present Capodimonte in dance. During the evening, in several events, various choreography will animate some of the museum's environments.

Royal Palace - Court Theater

The baroness wacky

The farce for music will be represented The baroness wacky by Domenico Cimarosa on a libretto by Pasquale Mililotti, which constituted the second act of the opera “I disdegni per amore”. The show was staged for the first time at the Teatro Nuovo in Naples in 1776 with the title of "I matrimoni in dance".
