Parties in clubs and discos are prohibited in Campania: De Luca's squeeze continues

Una new ordinance of the President of Campania Vincenzo De Luca gives further tightening of anti-Covid regulations in view of the feasts of Christmas e New Year.

The new provision imposes the ban on organizing any type of party in indoor venues and graduation parties, school and birthday parties are also included.

In short, a serious ban which consequently also prohibits indoor parties to celebrate New Year and Christmas.

How long does the ban last?

The ban is valid from December 19 to 1 January 2022, practically for the entire holiday period.

What the ordinance provides

  • ban on organizing parties and similar events indoors, therefore for example in dance halls and discos
  • lunches and / or dinners can be organized, the important thing is that the regulations in force in terms of social distancing and the obligation to wear a mask are respected. Seats must be seated and pre-assigned
  • thecatering business is still permitted, even in hotels, but dance activities are excluded

The ordinance on the prohibition of consuming drinks outdoors

We remember that it always remains valid, starting from December 23 and until January 1st, the previous ordinance. It provides for the following:

  • is absolutely It is forbidden to consume any food or drink outdoors, excluding water
  • it is not possible to organize events or parties outdoors or other manifestations that can create gatherings
  • is required wear the mask even outdoors in any place that is not isolated
  • the sale with take-away of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages is prohibited, with the exception of water on 23, 24, 25, 31 December 2021 and 1 January 2022 from 11 am to 5 am the next day

Further measures by the authorities

The ordinance recommends to the Municipalities and other competent authorities to increase vigilance on these holidays and to take other restrictive measures if necessary.

For example, public areas must be closed where it is not possible to avoid gathering phenomena and especially in areas where there is more movida.

The closure of the streets of Chiaia and the historic center

An ordinance of the Municipality has already provided for the closure of many streets of Chiaia and the historic center in case of gathering phenomena.
