The Villa Comunale of Naples was partly devastated by a huge fire that broke out a few hours ago, around 20:00 on December 20. The flames enveloped the vegetation of the small green lung of the city, leaving everything they touched without escape.

The palm trees of Chile had a centuries-old history, at least six were completely destroyed by fire. The trees date back to the mid-nineteenth century and now an interlude of Naples history goes out leaving only ash.

The fire brigade teams and also the police of the nearby San Ferdinando police station intervened promptly to put out the fire.

But the question we are all asking ourselves concerns the origin of the fire: "how did the fire start?". From the first reconstructions, unfortunately, the start seems to have started from a group of young people who were using fireworks in the area. The wind also helped push the fire towards the vegetation and from there the fire started.

Traffic, of course, has slowed down and citizens in the area have been alarmed fearing the worst. We await official confirmations to quantify the damage caused to the Villa Comunale of Naples.
