An extraordinary guided excursion to discover the famous “Funiculì Funiculà”!
La Vesuvio Funicular, as well as a convenient means of city transport, is also one of the many and precious Neapolitan heritage.
To celebrate the famous cog railway, Sunday February 8 2015 it will be possible to participate in a suggestive one guided tour that will transport visitors - travelers among the beauties ofancient route of the Vesuvian Railway.
The initiative, organized byVesuvio Natura Cultural Association, will allow you to discover the naturalistic and historical riches along the way.
A path used for centuries to reach the vetta of the Neapolitan volcano, as well as an important tourist attraction for the extraordinary unspoiled landscape that it holds.
Specifically, the special guided tour will go up the Vesuvius for about 9 Km, starting from the city of San Sebastiano up to the Vesuvius Observatory. The tour will pass mainly through the stretch that in ancient times connected the Power Station, now become the Cook Station, to the Observatory - Eremo.
An opportunity to learn about the famous funicular that inspired the famous song "Funiculi Funicula" by Luigi Denza, which has become the undisputed symbol of Neapolitan music in the world.
