An interesting cultural journey to discover the secrets of the beautiful and unique Pharmacy of the Incurables in Naples!
Unique in Europe and among the few in the world remained intact, the extraordinary Pharmacy of the Incurable will open its doors to the Neapolitans.
In fact, Sunday January 25 2015, the Pharmacy in question, will be the protagonist of a rich evening guided tour.
The initiative, organized byAssociazione Vivere Napoli, will catapult visitors among the artistic and historical beauties present in the structure.
An ancient place dating back to the sixteenth century, when, in Naples, the culture of beauty it was dominant. A philosophy so widespread at the time, that even curing the most horrible diseases had to take place in the name of good taste. A style of life widely represented by the majolicas, the wide staircases, the capitals and the extraordinary ceiling present in the halls of the complex.
The evocative journey will start from the Pharmacy and then continue through the hospital's Quadreria and the interesting one Museum of Health Arts. A real journey into ancient Neapolitan medical science, starting from 1600 up to the most current school represented by Giuseppe Moscati.
In front of the participants there will be books, prints, illustrations, old treatment remedies, and "scary" vintage surgical instruments. A path through l'evolution of the Neapolitan medical and scientific knowledge, a knowledge, this, which was and is always in constant change and improvement.
Finally, the evening will end by admiring the "Giardino dei Semplici", the Medical Garden, and afterwards the tourists will be able to comment and say goodbye in the company of a glass of wine and tasty aperitifs.
