Evening guided tours of the Solfatara for summer 2015

Solfatara in Pozzuoli
0: 00 / 0: 00

For summer 2015, evening guided tours with snacks will be organized at the Solfatara volcano!

Every Saturday in July, August and September 2015 it will be possible to visit the Flegrean volcano of the Solfatara in night version.

A specialized guide will lead you through a path between science and nature, to the discovery of the volcano in a state of quiescence, which however preserves an activity of emission of gas and mud.
The Solfatara, in fact, is a site where interesting physical phenomena occur, such as the condensation of water vapor and the rumble of the ground.

The first occurs by approaching a flame to a fumarole, whose vapors slowly intensify until reaching the steam condensation. The rumble of the ground can be seen, however, in some points of the crater where the guide will throw a stone to the ground from a small height, causing a very strong "rumble" as if you were in an underground place. In reality, these are small cavities produced by gases on a soil of porous origin.

In addition, you can have a snack by tasting the geothermal cuisine with anchovies cooked directly in the steam of a fumarole at 160 ° and accompanied by Falanghina wine from Campi Flegrei.
