Finally, the promenade that surrounds Lake Averno reopens and, to inaugurate it, you can participate in a free run and walk!

After about three weeks of work and reclamation, the walkway around Lake Averno is once again practicable in full.

The intervention was made possible by the mayor of Pozzuoli Vincenzo Figliolia and by the Municipal Councilor for the Environment Fiorella Zabatta and finally citizens and tourists will be able to discover all the path that runs along the shore of the lake. It was necessary to remove all the brushwood, mud and tall grass and, thanks to the long and difficult reclamation work, now anyone can enjoy this beautiful natural landscape.

Even the ones have been put back in their place benches and baskets, there is a balcony for the belvedere and there is also the wooden turret for the sighting of animals that inhabit the environment. In addition, the canal that connects the lake to the sea has also been restored in order to avoid new floods and guarantee a drainage for the water.

First Averno Runner's Day: run and walk around the lake

To inaugurate the path, and celebrate the event, the Greens of Pozzuoli have organized a Averno Runner's Daya completely free day of travel and walk around the lake to discover also all the sectors that were previously closed to the public.

There will be an amateur running race with a around the lakefront of about 2 km which can be attended by simple curious, amateurs and professionals, but also families. Also for the walk the path will be the same. Here is the program,

9.30: start of runners, 2 laps of the lake
11.00: start of the walk, 1 around the lake
