The mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi go back to talking about electric buses that will arrive in the city, specifying that within two years the entire current fleet will be replaced from electric buses.
This is one of the steps the administration is taking towards green and electric mobility, as part of a larger project that includes other projects, such as installing the smart traffic lights, the charging stations like the new ones in parking at the Central Station, cycle path to Scampia.
The new electric buses, the characteristics
In total the electric buses in the city they will be 253 and at the moment we remind you that in Naples there are 150 latest generation hybrid buses.
Within the two years insured by Mayor Manfredi, the bus fleet will be fully electric and the plan will be financed by the Pnrr for 180 million euro.
Here are their characteristics:
- 12 meters long;
- they will be equipped with an air conditioning system;
- they will have a lowered floor to allow access for the disabled;
- they will have cameras for video surveillance.
The new metro trains line 1 and line 6
We remind you that for several months the tests to put the new trains into operation of metro line 1. These are trains purchased by a Spanish company and currently in storage there are 8. In total 20 will arrive.
Their characteristics:
- very large because they can hold up to 1200 passengers
- reliable
- with European frequency, therefore waiting times will be significantly reduced up to 7 minutes
- with air conditioning system
- systems for noise reduction
- they can carry four wheelchairs for the disabled.
The mayor also stated that Line 6 of the underground will be open by the end of the year.
