The allegorical wagons and the masks of the colorful Scampia 2019 Carnival animate the streets of the Naples district!
The year returns again Canarian of Scampia with the famous parade that will take place on 3 March 2019 in the streets of the neighborhood. There will be allegorical wagons which start from the headquarters of Gridas, the Association that deals with the revaluation of the degraded areas of Scampia through events and various initiatives. The theme of this edition is "'O storytellers, that is, Who counts just and who doesn't".
The aim of the Scampia Carnival is to keep one alive beautiful folk tradition, but also to do continue the artisan work necessary for the creation of wagons and masks. Moreover, the objective is also to use such masks in a critical and social way, focusing on creativity to launch messages that make people think and sensitize. Finally, it is an excellent opportunity to push the Recycling.
The theme of this Carnival wants to deepen the importance of who tells the stories through numbers, people and preconceptions, explaining that knowledge is fundamental against prejudices and to awaken consciences.
