What to do and festivals in Campania during the weekend from 20 to 22 May 2022
In this weekend that is about to begin, many tasty and captivating festivals are back. First of all, already in Naples you can participate in DEGUSTA, with lots of quality street food from all over Italy.
Instead, the Palio del Casale with donkey rides, great local food and music. In Avellino there is thelargest open-air wine bar in Italy.

Palio del Casale in Cicciano
The 27th edition of the Palio del Casale in Cicciano will make us experience the emotions of world donkey race.
The program
- 18.30: Farmer's market organized by Slow Food Agro Nolano;
- 20.00: Festival of local products;
- from 21.00: it comes alive with the inaugural ceremony of the Palio del Casale XVII edition; followed by a musical evening.
- 11.00: the qualifying races
- from 12.30:. food stands where you can taste typical Campania cuisine;
- at 17.00, in the center of Cicciano the Procession in period clothes will be held.
- at 18.00: finally the Palio del Casale will kick off: the most famous jockeys in the world will compete for the world title
There will be typical dishes and street food, in a menu that can be consulted on Facebook page.
Furthermore, on Corso Garibaldi there will be a market of agricultural products organized by the Slow Food association of Nola and local crafts.

Acino, the first event on natural wines
From 21 to 23 May 2022 in the monumental complex of the former Bourbon prison in Avellino Acino takes place, the first event on natural wines, a sort of open-air wine shop that becomes the largest in Italy.
It is a kermesse on national and foreign denominations of viticulture and quality wine productions that do not undergo changes in the vineyard and in the cellar. Thus, they activate a spontaneous vinification and fermentation, without filtrations and clarifications and without added sulphites.
The program
- Saturday May 21th (from 19.00 to 24.00) “Preview Grape”. The storyteller Sandro Tecce tells us about the Irpinia cellars
- Sunday 22th of (from 17.00 to 22.00) Acino officially leaves. There will be the Association VITI – Winegrowers in the land of Irpinia with the masterclass “VITI and territory, storytelling of the Irpine Docg”.
- Monday May 23 (from 13.00 to 16.00), the kitchen of Tratturì – Gastronomic transhumance and the chef Mirko Balzano organize a meeting with producers and sector operators in the event "Breakfast with the winemakers”
