As of June 2023, the quiet village of Fontanavecchia di Faicchio, located in the province of Benevento, will open its doors for the new edition of the “Feast of the Snail and Tammorre“. The scheduled dates for this event of flavors and sounds are 1-2-3-4-9-10-11 giugno 2023.
The Culminating Tradition of the Feast
This event, now in its 15th edition, has obtained a growing success over the years, attracting an increasing number of visitors to this fascinating place stone village in the Sannio Beneventano area.
The organizers of the event ensure that here, the scents of nature have been combined for centuries with those of a traditional cuisine. The snails constitute the greater culinary expression of this community, together with the renowned oil, grilled food and local gastronomy.
In accordance with tradition, parallel to the Snail Festival, "Le Notti della Tammorre" is also held. During this event, four musical groups they follow one another over the three evenings, performing in the alleys, in the mill caves and in the cellars of the village.
A cultural as well as gastronomic experience
During the event, in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Faicchio “U. Strawberry”, are foreseen guided tours which will offer visitors the opportunity to discover and appreciate the ancient oil mills of Fontanavecchia, the Small Magic Museum of Sannio dedicated to the illustrious ones of Faicchio and the Roman aqueduct.
