The Palazzo Merlato di Procida is tinged with green for the Feast of St. Patrick and as a message of friendship!

On the occasion of St. Patrick's Day, Palazzo Merlato di Procida lights up green to remember with sympathy and affection the holiday so loved by the Irish.

In fact, the 17 March 2021 all over Ireland, but now all over the world, the patron saint of the green island is celebrated with many events especially in pubs. Unfortunately this year the pandemic does not yet allow us to return to the bars and drink the traditional green beers, but there are some curious and original initiatives.

The Global Greening Initiative

We remember that Procida has been named Capital of Culture 2022 and the Palazzo Merlato itself hosts the slogan “Culture does not isolate”. As mentioned, it will turn green for about two hours starting at 21.00: it is the traditional color of St. Patrick's Day, also to take part in the global initiative Global Greening.

This is the Irish tourism cultural initiative that started 11 years ago in Australia as friendship message to Ireland and, precisely in this year of health emergency, it is even more important to make us feel closer and in solidarity.
