The maintenance works at the Chiaia Funicular in Naples will start in 2018 and will last for 10 months.
After the long one closing of the Naples Central Funicular to allow i twenty-year maintenance works, Also Chiaia Funicular will remain closed for about ten months for the same reason, but starting from 2018, as announced by the Mattino.it (see source at the end of the page).
The Municipality has obtained the extension by the Ministry of Transport, in fact, the closure should have taken place in the summer of 2017. After all, this is good news, because leaving two such important funiculars closed at the same time would have caused excessive inconvenience. Therefore, the plant will only reopen in July, but to remedy the inconvenience a bus shuttle ad hoc.
As for the Chiaia Funicular, in this period there have been various problems that often required its closure and many have complained about deficiencies in the maintenance company, even if the company denies it. In any case, the work for this transport line, hoping that the problems will disappear completely.
