The new trains of the 1 metro line in Naples: reliable and with European frequency
Still news in the field of public transport in Naples, in fact, the new trains that will be part of the subway line 1, or the one that connects the station of Piscinola with the station of Naples Garibaldi.
The change was almost necessary, given that the trains that are currently active are much smaller than those that will replace them, as well as being significantly fewer in number, and moreover several have already passed 1,5 million kilometers.
The characteristics of the new trains
The new trains serving the Naples metro, arrived from Spain, will be state-of-the-art and with different characteristics:
- large, they can hold up to 1200 passengers
- reliable
- with European frequency
- equipped with air conditioning system
- systems for noise reduction
- capable of carrying up to four wheelchairs for the disabled
They will therefore be new and modern cars that will also allow shorter waits, in fact there will be a frequency of trains every seven minutes and this will allow to speed up the movements.
The tests of the new trains
In recent days, the dynamic tests of the new trains on the tracks were carried out by theAgency National is preferably used for road and rail infrastructure safety, both empty and loaded with material, just to simulate passengers on board.
The start of the tests has been confirmed by the various institutions, after they have been there in-depth studies and several comparisons.
We recall in fact that a July last year during the rehearsals there was an accident, currently it has been concluded that the cause was not attributable to the train. However, the tests, which took place in complete safety, were carried out during the day and this resulted in the blocking of traffic from 09:30 to 16:30 and replacement buses.
In the near future, the General Management in Rome will be asked for the possibility of carry out the subsequent tests at night, without therefore having to block the circulation. We await news on this.
