On the occasion of Expo 2015, the exhibition "Il Bello o il Vero" will be extended until May 2015, including concerts, shows and conferences

Il Bello or il Vero, The Neapolitan Sculpture of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, is the exhibition on the Neapolitan sculpture set up in the evocative setting of the Complex of San Domenico Maggiore which is enjoying huge public success since last October 2014.

The exhibition, organized by Isabella Valente and included in the program of the Forum Delle Culture 2014, promoted by the Municipality of Naples and the University of Naples Federico II, with the patronage of the Campania Region, was to end yesterday, 31 January 2015, but it will be extended until May 2015.

The occasion is that of Milan Expo 2015, the great event that in a few months will celebrate the whole of Italy, from North to South, through exhibitions, shows, conferences, exhibitions and concerts.

From 3 February to 31 May 2015 the Complex of San Domenico Maggiore and the exhibition The Beautiful or the True they will also be animated by conferences, events, concerts and shows to project themselves into the scenario of EXPO2015. One difference: admission will not be free but will include a contribution of 5 €.

The Beautiful or the True It shows visitors a good two centuries of Neapolitan sculpture through 250 works from museums, galleries and private collections throughout Italy. Furthermore, once again, after the success of An impossible exhibition, art makes use of the support for new digital and interactive technologies that will amplify the ways of fruition of the works.

The exhibition will propose a dynamic fruition itinerary, thanks to an app, which can be downloaded for free at the museum entrance, developed by Databenc (High Technology District for Cultural Heritage), which will stimulate critical knowledge and curiosity. Visitors will be able to dialogue with the works, thanks to the technologies developed within the CHIS (Cultural Heritage Information System), OPS (Opere Parlanti Show), SNECS (Social Network Entities of Historical Centers) and Muse @ home projects, actively interacting with the information and contents, through smartphone applications and virtual reconstructions on very high definition screens.

The sculptures will therefore dialogue with visitors as soon as they approach the individual works, equipped with special sensors that will geolocate them. The user can customize the program, requesting non-suggested content and processing it. In this way the user will be actively involved in the work at the cognitive and sensorial level.

They are also present also sculptures reconstructed in 3D on interactive screens high resolution that the visitor can "rotate", move in three-dimensional space and discover every detail through touchless gestural commands.
