La Metro station at Capodichino Airport in Naples is getting closer and closer to its realization, thanks to the works carried out for years by the company We Build.

In these days a part of this station has been shown that is part of line 1 and that shows us a nice vertical path with elevators and a spiral of escalators which with the movement of the great flow of travelers will be even more dynamic and animated. Has been designed by Architect Richard Rogers and will also give a completely new face to the Airport area because it provides access with covered pedestrian walkways and connections with parking lots.

A job that combines architectural beauty ed efficiency because of course stairs and elevators will distribute, as well as guide, the flows of arrivals and departures.

I works will finish in 2025, as announced by the company on its Facebook page, and Naples will be one of the few cities to have a direct connection by metro between Porto, Airport and Central Station.

The characteristics of the station

As we read directly on the We Build website, the Station consists of an underground building with a plant in the shape of an Omega and it is 50 meters deep. There is an open atrium on the street level and above there is a hangar roof made of steel, glass and concrete.

This roof is 10 meters high and its plan dimensions are 50 × 48 meters.

In the rectangular part of this Omega there are the service facilities, while in the circular area, whose internal diameter is 33 meters there is a single open space with 8 lifts in the center and 4 spiral staircases which can be screwed onto the circular wall.

In addition, there are two 110-meter-long galleries about 9 meters wide.
