The Duomo Station of the 1 line of Naples will be the most beautiful in the world. Here's how it will be and when it will open!
La Duomo station of the subway line 1 of Naples it is almost ready and, while the works are drawing to a close, the two architects who took care of its realization, Massimiliano Fuksas and Doriana Mandrelli, they said it will be one of the most beautiful subways in the world.
At the City of Naples the project was presented with images showing the beautiful station and this will be configured as one walk in time under the ground. We will go from the beauty of the Temple of the first century after Christ which was found during the excavations at landing on the moon.
The construction site in Piazza Nicola Amore reopened last August after about 3 years of closure and, when finished, the station will be dominated by a transparent cap that will make it look like a large open-air museum. Traffic will continue on the right side, while the left side will be pedestrian with benches and other supports.
The station will open in the 2019.
How will the Duomo Station be?
As mentioned, the transparent dome will allow you to see from above the great Roman Temple discovered during the works and will do pass the light. On the floor below you can see the sky and the buildings of Piazza Nicola Amore and, continuing to go down, there are the docks with backlit panels. The architects have stated that it is a walk through the hours of the day with the changing colors going from the light blue to the orange of the sunset until you get to the night. It will be like a walk of an astronaut who observes the Earth from the Moon.
From the 23 November 2018, i station projects will also be exhibited at the MANN.
