Love, intrigue and pain with La Traviata directed by Ferzan Ozpetek at the San Carlo Theater in Naples!
From April to 23 5 May 2017 will go on stage La Traviata, revisited and directed by Turkish director Ferzan Ozpetek, al Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
The opera, set to music by Giuseppe Verdi, has undergone changes in style and forms, made by maestro Ozpetek who wanted to personalize it, moving the action in 1910, into a Oriental Paris of great charm, made such by sets of the Oscar Prize Dante Ferretti and with an exciting musical background, which changes according to the scenes, underlining the pathos, pain and sensuality.
The plot is faithful to the original one, based on the dramatic love story between the beautiful Violetta Valery and the rich Alfredo Germont, whose father intervenes to put an end to this scandalous relationship.
Violetta will be persuaded to protect Alfredo, but he can not rest because he continues to love her. When she becomes seriously ill with tuberculosis, she runs to her bedside, but after giving him a medallion with her image, the young woman dies.
The director deepens the psychological aspect of the characters and her protagonist appears as a carnal, passionate woman, who takes matters into her own hands without being overwhelmed by adverse events.
A timeless, engaging and moving melodrama.
