The Hypogeum of the Crystals in the heart of Sanità-Vergini district a Napoli finally reopens to the public and the date to be marked is July 1st 2022. It is an incredible treasure, a testimony of Hellenic painting and architecture.

The space restoration project was partly financed with European funds / Campania Region in collaboration with the Central Institute for Restoration of Rome. Thanks to these works it was possible to create a multimedia exhibition with audio guide, digitization and 3D rendering.

Visitors will be able to discover a wonderful place still intact and alive, in particular four spaces, which are rich in decoris and refined trompe l'oeil effects. In addition, you will have the opportunity to admire the beautiful collection of ancient artifacts and vases which have been preserved with great care.

In short, for those who have not yet visited this magnificent place it will be the right opportunity to experience a journey through time of 2300 years, to discover an underground, mysterious and ancient world.

On the occasion of the reopening, from 1 to 10 July 2022 you can visit the Ipogeo dei Cristallini in Naples for free. From 11 July onwards, however, visits will be paid. For the visit it is necessary to book online on the official website.

The discovery of the Ipogeo dei Cristallini in Naples

The Hypogeum of the Cristallini in Naples consists of four independent hypogea which are excavated in the tuff and are owned by the engineer Giampiero Martuscelli, the nephew of the Baron of Donato. The entire complex was discovered in 1889 right in the palace garden at a depth of 12 meters. In fact, currently the sepulchral chambers can only be visited by crossing a staircase inside the building.
