“The Nutcracker” returns to the San Carlo Theater, with all the magic of the Christmas ballet!
Al San Carlo Theater of Naples it's not Christmas without the classic Christmas ballet par excellence: The Nutcracker. From December 30 2015 3 to January 2016, it will be possible to attend, as every year during the holidays, the famous ballet composed by Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij between 1891 and 1892, on the indications of the libretto by Marius Petipa.
The music de The Nutcracker they are among the most famous of the classical repertoire of the late 800th century and are known by all. And we all associate them with the Christmas period, precisely because the fairy tale told in this work takes place during Christmas Eve. Protagonist of the story, inspired by the story Nutcracker and the king of mice di Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann del 1816, è little Clara, who received a nutcracker in the shape of a toy soldier as a Christmas gift.
During the Christmas night, the child imagines that everything around her takes life, and begins to delve into a fantasy world, in the company of the Confetto Fairy and the Rat King who wants to steal the nutcracker, which comes alive becoming a Prince. Between wonderful dances and the enchanting atmosphere of the Kingdom of Sweets.
The staging de The Nutcracker al Teatro San Carlo it will be directed by Nicolae Moldoveanu, with scenes by Nicola Rubertelli and costumes by Giusi Giustino. The interpreters of the ballet will be Anbeta Toromani (30 December at 21pm; 02 January at 21pm; 03 January at 17pm) and Claudia D'Antonio (30 December at 17pm; 02 January at 17pm) in the role of the Princess of Sugar, and Alessandro Macario (30 December at 21pm; January 02 at 21pm; January 03 at 17pm) and Salvatore Manzo (December 30 at 17pm; January 02 at 17pm) in the role of the Nutcracker Prince.
With the Orchestra, the Corps de Ballet and the White Voices Chorus of the Teatro di San Carlo.
