Sunday October 16 2022 it will be a very important date as the University metro station Line 1 it will finally be reopened to citizens and above all to young people who go to university every day.
The work carried out
The jobs at the station are started June 15, 2022, the day in which the metro stop was closed. The works were needed for replace the flooring, now impracticable due to the various failures, were carried out by the company Toledo Scarl, a company of the Mn spa group which took care of the construction of the station.
When the University station was built they were used advanced excavation techniques in the presence of water, in fact the structure is located below the level of the water table, the iron level is beyond 25 meters below the sea level.
Just because of this condition and humidity that over time has been created, problems have occurred with the floors, therefore it was necessary to replace the material, this time using one suitable for the humid environment and a different method of installation.
They have been replaced approx 1750 sq m of flooring on the different floors and on the quay, 230 meters of the Loges route.
