Molière, Verga, Beckett, Eduardo, Pinter, Dostoevskij and Kafka among the authors of the shows staged in the theaters of Naples in January 2015

2015 begins in the name of quality theater, thanks to the shows scheduled in Neapolitan theaters. If the temperatures begin to drop, what better place to stay warm and witness the best dramaturgy of the present and the past, fulfilling the desire for culture and reflection on the life that is present in each of us?

Like the same big Eduardo He is saying: “Theater is nothing but man's desperate effort to give meaning to life”.

Napolike, as every month, therefore advises you the best shows on stage in the theaters of Naples, including an original version of the Don Govanni of Molière, an adaptation of Mastro Don Gesualdo of Verga, Match Final of Beckett, The voices inside by Eduardo directed by Servillo, and, again, Pinter, Dostoevskij and Kafka.

Teatro Diana

Don Giovanni

An original version, directed by Alessandro Preziosi, of a classic and timeless myth, but for the first time the exhibition shows us the creative process as it is supposed to have been designed by Da Ponte, with the visionary perspective of giving rise to something unexplored and to retrace with eyes contemporary the journey of those who preceded us. Here too Don Giovanni is the seductive figure shrouded in mystery who represents the emblem of a carefree joie de vivre, of sensual pleasure, of strategic intelligence placed at the service of deceptions and contempt for the irrational. Also on stage Nando Paone.

Mastro Don Gesualdo

Theatrical version of the famous novel written in 1889 by Giovanni Verga and belonging to the cycle of the "vanquished". To direct the exhibition Guglielmo Ferro, who wanted to pay homage with this project to the theatrical adaptation of Mastro Don Gesualdo made by his father, Turi Ferro, in 1967. With a modern and current staging and the use of video projections, Ferro underlines the concept of "stuff" , the incessant and frenetic representation of a world dominated by extreme materialism, where there is no place for feelings, a world without space and time, in which the characters are 'photographed' like puppets.

Arteriosclerosis

Dalia Frediani writes, directs and performs an extravagant show, Arteriosclerosi, which she herself ironically defines as “A set of things that I can't explain because I don't remember them. But on the stage they will come back to me because the stage has the magic of letting all ailments, including arteriosclerosis, pass, as soon as you cast it. I only know that it was supposed to be a monologue but, by monologizing monologizing I will have felt alone, and so today I find myself in the company of other actors ... I was in danger of turning it into a blockbuster !!! "

Autumn Symphony

On stage at the Teatro Mercadante one of the masterpieces of Ingmar Bergman, reproposed by Gabriele Lavia making use of the presence of an extraordinary and inimitable protagonist of the Italian scene, Anna Maria Guarneri. According to Lavia, one of the main knots of the drama is the sense of exclusion: “Being excluded… a feeling that Bergman must have known very well. A sentiment common to the 'actors', even to the 'concert performers'… common to those strange human beings who 'expose themselves', who 'are' on the stage. They have only one possibility of being: 'expose themselves' ”.
