A timeless tale, one of the most popular musical theater classics: My Fair Lady on stage at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
From the 6 14 2018 February, in the splendid setting of the San Carlo Theater of Naples, will go on stage My Fair Lady, a classic of musical theater taken from the opera Pygmalion di George Bernard Shaw written in the 1913.
It is a new production of the Teatro San Carlo in co-production with the Teatro Massimo of Palermo. A show not to be missed for those who love this timeless tale, the universality of its language, the moments of great comedy and emotion, made immortal especially by the famous film My Fair Lady di George Cukor, whose protagonist Eliza Dolittle is interpreted by the great Audrey Hepburn, while Rex Harrison plays professor Henry Higgins.
My Fair Lady it is the famous one musical comedy written in the 1956 by Alan Jay Lerner, author of the booklet, and on music di Frederick Loewe, adapted from the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. The show, which debuted on Broadway, in New York, in the 1956, had a resounding success and many revivals have been made, up to now, which have toured all over the world, including in Berlin, London, Paris and Italy. which is to be remembered My Fair Lady of the 1964 with Delia Scala and Gianrico Tedeschi.
The plot of My Fair Lady tells the story of the cynical professor of phonetics Henry Higgins, who bets with his friend, Colonel Pickering, to transform a rough and uneducated florist, Eliza Doolittle, in a refined woman of high society. Higgings will win the bet and find he also has feelings for her.
