Testing of old and new trains caused strong disruptions on line 1 of Naples subway. In fact, in recent weeks, ANM has been forced to block the races to carry out tests on the rails, consequently creating great chaos for Neapolitan citizens and visiting tourists. But the situation seems to have settled resolved with the resumption of night tests.
Why did the tests take place during the day?
The night rehearsals had suddenly been stopped due to a concern the contractual framework of the workers and, consequently, the tests could only be performed during the day causing the known disruptions since ANM closed the entire section one or even twice a week.
Even the mayor Manfredi he had already specified the reasons.
The decision to resume night rehearsals
A meeting was held last Thursday at Ministry of Transporton the initiative of the Minister Matteo Salvini, to discuss the dispute and possible solutions. There was talk of the classification of former USTIF personnel, an extraordinary recruitment plan and the enhancement and requalification of all ANSFISA personnel. The meeting has been adjourned to March 10th.
The opening of night tests it has been greeted with relief by users, who hope that the situation will return to normal. ANM and ANSFISA have reached an agreement, thanks also to the mayor's insistence Gaetano Manfredi and the commissioner of the Mobility Edoardo Cosenza.
Despite the opening of the night tests, the ANSFISA employee dispute it hasn't resolved yet fully, but resuming nightly checks is a step forward in solving the problem.
The night tests of the Metro Line 1 restart
Metro Line 1 of Naples returns to regular circulation during the day thanks to the resumption of train tests at night. From 27 February 2023 Metro will close at 21:30 for the overhaul of the old train and the new second train will be tested on the following Monday.
