Victor Osimhen, SSC Napoli footballer, in action

Napoli – Milan ended with the result of 1 to 1. This outcome has sentenced the Neapolitans to farewell to the Champions League, just now that the semifinal was a goal within reach.

Below are the report cards of the Napoli players who took the field against Milan.

Scoreboard team Napoli – Milan 1-1

Alex Meret 7,5 – The Napoli goalkeeper had an excellent performance, making two decisive saves on Giroud which extended his team's hopes. He saved a penalty and also distinguished himself shortly after with a foot save.

John By Lorenzo 5,5 – He didn't make any big mistakes in Leao's counterattack, but if he had decided to stop the action with a foul, the game could have taken a different turn.

Amir Rrahmani 4 – He has enormous responsibilities in Giroud's goal, failing to stop Leao's counterattack. He didn't take advantage of the opportunities to commit a tactical foul and attempted a tackle without success. From 74′ Leo Ostigard 6 – He didn't have any particular notable moments in the match.

Juan Jesus 6 – Although he is not Kim, he is the least bad defender of Napoli in this match.

Mario Rui 4,5 – He made a big mistake on Leao in the most important moment of the season. Meret saves him, but the episode remains heavy. From 33′ Mathias Olivera 5,5 – He didn't shine in the offensive phase and didn't help much kvaratskhelia.

Tanguy Ndombele 5 – He lost a dangerous ball which led to Leao's counterattack and, like Rrahmani, he did not commit the necessary foul. From 63′ Eljif Elmas 6 – He didn't show any interesting cues.

Stanislav Lobotka 6,5 – He recovered many balls and performed well as a midfield metronome in the first minutes of the game.

Piotr Zielinski 5 – Failed to impact the match in any way. From 74′ Giacomo Breakers 6 – His entry was too late to make a difference.

Matteo politan 6,5 – He started the match well, also putting Theo in difficulty, but injured his ankle. From 33′ Irving Lush 6 – He failed to make the most of his speed and made many unsuccessful crosses.

Victor osimhen 5,5 – He failed to make a difference, being neutralized by opposing defenders. He found little space and was never able to record. His goal is irrelevant.

Khvisha kvaratskhelia 4,5 – He tried to make a difference, but was unable to break the opponent's defence. The missed penalty in the final definitively ended Napoli's European hopes.

Coach Luciano Spalletti 5,5 – Three games against Milan with only one goal scored and six conceded. After the first two warnings, maybe it was time to change something in the third challenge, but the technician was unable to find the right solution. If an idea consistently doesn't work, does it make sense to keep sticking with the same approach, hoping that the end result will be different than it's always been? Spalletti should have shown greater adaptability and looked for new solutions to turn the tide of the match.
