Re Casatiello 2024, the competition to choose the best Montese dessert

Saturday March 30 in Monte di Procida the undisputed protagonists will be the casatiello, a typical Easter dessert. It starts from 18 pm at the acclaimed Al Chiar di Luna where the ceremony to decree the King Casatiello 2024.

The event aims to spread the tradition of the sweet casatiello montese. We are talking about a different variant from the usually salty one that is eaten at Easter.

The initiative is organized by the Pro Loco Monte di Procida, the event aims to spread and recognize this specialty, jealously guarded in family recipes. The competition is an opportunity for local families to show their talent in preparing casatiello, following the Production regulations which guarantees its authenticity and quality, under the aegis of DE.CO.

How to evaluate the best casatiello

Il King Casatiello 2024 to be elected it will be tasted by a jury of experts including enthusiasts, journalists and local representatives. They will be the ones who will have the task of evaluating the casatielli presented, based on well-defined criteria such as that one visual, olfactory and gustatory. Obviously the final goal will be to identify the casatiello that best represents the Montese tradition.
