At the start the bean festival of Controne 2017 with its thirty-fifth edition full of typical dishes and reworkings of this slow food presidium.
25 Saturday and Sunday November 26 2017 the thirty-fifth edition of the Bean festival of Controne at the historic center of the village of Alburnese.
The festival coincides with the harvesting of the bean, known slow food presidium, which is sown between the first and second decade of July and which looks like a small bean with white seeds, slightly ovoidal in shape, without spots or eyes, and wants to celebrate the gastronomic tradition that revolves around it.
In the two days it will be possible, in fact, savor traditional dishes like the lagane and chickpeas, a type of fresh homemade pasta, or the scarole with beans, pasta and beans in white, pasta with seafood and beans, sausage and beans, mushrooms, all strictly cooked and seasoned with extra virgin olive oil obtained from native species such as the Rotondella and the Carpellese. Everything will be accompanied by the Alburni wine and cheered up by the music.
During the festival will also be given the extralburno award "Best Oil" and there will be one of the stages of the "GirOlio d'Italia" 2017 tour, a national initiative organized by the National Association of Oil Town that combines Italian rural cultures and landscapes, enhancing the peculiarities and values of these territories. At Controne some shops will host an exhibition of crafts dedicated to ancient crafts and typical products of their land.
