From Saturday 9th to Sunday 10th September 2023 the streets and alleys of Apollosa, a town in the province of Benevento, will welcome the 2023 edition of the highly anticipated Pig Festival. A traditional event of the place that this year celebrates an important milestone, namely its twenty-five years.
Organized by Pro loco local, the event will be characterized by good food, music and lots of fun, elements that allow it to reach a larger number of people every year, who come to Apollosa just to taste pork dishes.
How the Maialetto is prepared
At the Apollosa Pig Festival you can taste the little pig, it is a typical product of Sannio, which is cooked according to an ancient local recipe. In particular, the suckling pig is cooked together with wine, above all foxtail, medicinal herbs including thyme, rosemary and oregano, and potatoes.
Obviously, there will also be other dishes, such as friggitoria, street food, grill, and everything will be accompanied by DOCG and DOP wines from Taburno.
The event will also feature fun and music, several guests are in fact expected, but the evening program is still being updated. We just have to wait for the news in the program!
