Air strike of 17 March 2023: stop from 4 to 24 hours
March 17, 2023, Friday, promises to be a critical day for air travellers, following a general strike which it originated in Germany and spread as far as Italy, however presenting significant differences in duration depending on the trade union involved.
Variations in the duration of the strike between unions
The strike ranges from an outage only 4 hours which will involve the airport staff of the Pisa and Fiumicino airports, up to a 24-hour national and general protest action in all others.
Specifically, the unions Flati transport and services, Osr Cub transport and Cub, which represent service workers and security personnel at the airport of Milan Linatethey will cross their arms for 24 hours consecutive.
No adhesions have been communicated by trade unions of the other airports on the national territory, but it is presumable that there will be cascading delays even in the latter.

Consequences for travellers
For example, the Ver.di trade union (“Union of Service Sector Unions”) has warned, in a press release, that passengers will have to prepare to longer waiting times and the cancellation of numerous flights.
It becomes plausible that the delays, as already mentioned, they will also cause inconvenience at other airports on the national territory.
Reasons for the strike
The reasons behind the protest are the demand for a wage increase and the improvement of working conditions for industry employees.
