Plane strike on June 4th, here are guaranteed bands and flights
At first scheduled for May 19, the protest of four hours which would have concerned ground handling services for aircraft and travellers, has been postponed.
Unions responsible for this decision, including Filt, Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl Ta, have deemed it necessary postpone the event to Sunday 4 June due to the flood which devastated Emilia Romagna.
A choice made not to aggravate further the living conditions of those who are already struggling with the hardships caused by the natural disaster.
How will the strike affect travellers?
This strike may not be good news for many travellers.
According to estimates by ItaliaRimbordo, there could be around 220.000 Italians that they might experience hardships because of the protest.
The possibility cannot be ruled out flight delays or even cancellations.
Guaranteed bands and flights
Despite the strike, there is good news. The National Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) has established that some flights will be guaranteed to limit the inconvenience.
Among these, state, military, emergency, health, humanitarian and rescue flights. Moreover, they will be guaranteed too flights departing in the time slots 7.00/10.00 and 18.00/21.00, as well as authorized or notified charter flights to/from the islands before the strike date.
