SegninVersi in Piazza Mercato in Naples, the Poetry and Street Art Festival

Il 9 and the 10 October 2021 a new edition of SigninVerses,poetic art attack which takes place in Piazza Mercato in Naples, Poetry and street art festival which will animate the whole area.

The initiative was born two years ago thanks to an idea of ​​the SegninVersi collective, that is a group of associations from Campania directed by Rosa Mancini to protect and promote the beauty of the Market area through art.

This is the second edition of the Festival, after a year of pause due to the pandemic, and is intended as a two-day event full of events, art and appointments with culture through books, authors, poetry, painters, WORKSHOPS and emerging artists. Long live the participation of the shopkeepers who have joined and who will make their own available shutters, 20 in total, to have them painted by emerging artists. They will be colored and will express the verses of the winning poets of a contest promoted by Poesie Metropolitane last year. The theme was "The vision against disasters", as part of the Maggio dei Monumenti dedicated to Giordano Bruno.

In Piazza Mercato you can also donate books to Poesie Metropolitane using the poetic info point where new books or books written by emerging authors will be collected. They will be donated to collection centers for basic necessities, such as Asso.gioca and the blood donors of Castellamare di Stabia.

The exhibitions and meetings in the Cloister

During the weekend they will also be there photographic exhibitions which can be visited in Cloister of Sant'Eligio made by the authors Enrico Di Cerbo, Elio Messina, Klaus Bunker and Emanuele Coppola.

Also inside the Cloister there will be meetings with the writers and book presentations. We will meet Mariafelicia Carraturo, Achille Pignatelli, Annamaria Varriale, Cristana Buccarelli, Angela Fusco, Irene Mascia, Guido Lotti, Valeria Marchese, Pietro Santoro, Ciro Tremolaterra, Angela Cascella and Fortunato Nicoletti.

Furthermore, they will be organized workshops for children and adults, poetry reading, regional tournaments of poetry slam and there will be a tribute to Dante Alighieri with "Inferno Divina Commedia" by Gigi Laperuta.

To participate in the events in the Cloister it is necessary to have the Green pass.

Poetic art attack for Piazza Mercato

Throughout the perimeter of the square, 20 artists will paint the shutters of some shopkeepers with unpublished poems and works of art. The shops are: Not Just Paper, New Style- wholesale women's clothing, Cislaghi- Case & Cose, Chiaia Training Center, Ramaglia, Bar Mercato, Centro Carta, De Masi and Gigawatt.
