Great party in Naples to celebrate Charles III of Bourbon between parades, masked balls, music and fun!

Il May of the 2016 Monuments this year it has chosen to celebrate its XNUMXth anniversary birthday of the sovereign Charles III of Bourbon to whom we owe the realization of numerous works of art including the Palace of Caserta, Palace of Portici, Palace of Capodimonte and Teatro San Carlo.

There are many events organized to remember this historical period that has characterized a huge one artistic and musical development: concerts, guided tours, theatrical meetings, debates, walks on the territory, parades and much more. The events most linked to the memory of Charles III will have the 29 May 2016, date of the closing of the May of the Monuments.

Parades for Carlo di Borbone

A walk from the king

The Lungomare Caracciolo will host the marvelous parade of historical carriages dating back to the Neapolitan eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. During the parade the carriages, buggies and coupes will be pulled by horses with figures in period costume. The music of that historical period will be the protagonist of the event, the groups will perform Mastro Masiello Mandolin and the Folk Vibratae Mundi, all in costume. It will start from via Partenope and, after having covered several streets of the city, we will return to the Lungomare.

Grand Historical Procession

After the great parade of carriages there will be a procession to commemorate the entry of Charles III of Bourbon into Naples in 1734. The parade, which will include 200 figurants all dressed in eighteenth-century costume, will be accompanied by musical animations. The Grand Historical Parade will start from Piazza Enrico de Nicola, through the Porta Capuana and will end in Piazza del Plebiscito, entrance to Piazza Incantata.

Marriage at the time of the Bourbons

All 11:00 during the "King's Walk" the great women's parade will start, for the occasion you can admire the typical ceremonial dresses worn by brides of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The ceremony, which will begin from the intersection with via San Biagio dei Librai, will be accompanied by serenades of mandolins and the show of flag wavers.

Great Court Party

It is a sumptuous eighteenth-century costume dance in the beautiful Piazza Plebiscito, entrance to Piazza Incantata. At the Grand party will also join the groups that have taken part in other events of the day to close in style. On stage they will perform groups of dancers who will lead the dances and comic artists, while in the square the flag-wavers, street artists and masked figures will hold the audience. The godmother of the evening will be Marisa Laurito who will close the Maggio dei Monumenti event with a costume performance.
