The full program of events of the May of 2016 Monuments in Naples with guided tours, shows, exhibitions and museums!
Il May of the 2016 Monuments as every year it will take place in many cultural locations in Naples with many events that will fill the whole month. The events will go from 1 May to 2 June 2016 and the title given this year is "May… feel Naples Capital in the air".
This edition is dedicated to King Charles of Bourbon on the occasion of the 300 years from its birth and also to the eighteenth century
artistic and cultural music with a focus on Giovanni Paisiello two hundred years after his death.
The program was developed by the Municipality of Naples together with all the institutions of high culture of the city involved, while the visual campaign was curated byAcademy of Fine Arts. The San Carlo Theater, the Museum of Capodimonte, Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella and many other fundamental realities for art and culture in the city such as the Gaiola Onlus Interdisciplinary Study Center, the Pietà dei Turchini Center for Ancient Music Foundation and the Progetto Museo Association.
Many events are dedicated to Charles of Bourbon, while the Touring Club has its own appointment program.
May Program of 2016 Monuments
Like every year, the program will be packed with hundreds of thematic guided tours organized by associations and cooperatives and by many other events that aim to pay homage to the sovereign Charles III. As mentioned, however, much attention will also be given to the music of the '700 and to his teacher Paisiello. Furthermore, there will be a series of Vichian itineraries that will end with a lectio magistralis of the Professor Aldo Masullo just on the figure of Gianbattista Vico.

Chorus of the White Voices
The symbolic opening of the Maggio dei Monumenti 2016 will take place on 1 May in Palazzo San Giacomo with the Choir of the White Voices of the Teatro San Carlo. It will be free entry and will start at 18.00.
Events at the Capodimonte Museum
On May 1st, the museum will have free admission and will propose a path with the most important moments of the reign of Charles. In the Salone delle Feste the students of the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella will play with a program on the Neapolitan eighteenth century. Everything will be completed by the event "Lights on Charles", the story of the king by Sylvain Bellenger.
Great parade of historical carriages
Always in honor of Charles III of Bourbon, the 29 May from Lungomare will start one parade of carriages and historical chalks with appearing in period costume that will march with the background of the ancient music played by some groups. In the afternoon, however, there will be an itinerary that will re-propose the sovereign's entry into Naples with the relative itinerary.
The Night of the Philosophers
It will take place on June 1st The Night of the Philosophers and it will be anticipated by the aforementioned lectio magistralis of Professor Masullo. It will be in the Complex of San Domenico Maggiore and will be titled the Night of Feelings. One meet Love, Joy,
Melancholy, Languor, Abandonment, Freedom, Friendship, Enthusiasm in a long night of music with many interesting installations.
The School adopts a Moment
It is one of the most important collaborations with the Napoli 99 Foundation. The project was born in the 90s and is aimed at respect and protection of our artistic-cultural heritage, but also in general to the environment. It involves schools that not only adopt a monument, but plan a series of events as well guided tours.
